Henry at 2 Months

By in Kids

We celebrated Henry’s two month birthday yesterday! As you can see from the photo, he is a happy, growing baby. The last month has been an amazing journey for our little man, experiencing his first road trip to Virginia, his first cold winter and lots of newfound things to do with his hands. He also went through several growth spurts, making Mom and Dad get more and more exercise every day. Henry currently weighs in at 15 pounds, 11 ounces and 25 inches tall, putting him in the 98th percentile for weight and 95th for height. Our doctor confirmed, he’s a big boy!

Henry is now more alert than ever, transforming from a newborn into a fairly interactive infant. While he’s still really calm and docile, he loves to coo and giggle at Mom and Dad, especially after a good night’s sleep. He’s been busy figuring out that not only are his hands under his control, he can grab at objects and put them in his mouth! For someone that previously didn’t know his hands were even attached to his body, it’s a huge discovery. Henry loves to play and read books, and when he’s really excited he’ll flail his arms and legs and give you some huge, adorable smiles.

For the first time in five years we were able to spend Thanksgiving with our families. Not only was it a welcome holiday full of great food and love, but Henry proved that he is a worthy traveler! The road trip to Virginia is about 5 hours long and he essentially slept the entire way. He hates staying still in his car seat; he fusses until Dad hits the accelerator and speeds along at 70 mph on the interstate. Perhaps he already loves driving as much as Dad does! The holidays were great fun and Henry got to finally meet some more relatives, including Uncle Matt, Aunt Kristen and his cousins Aimee and Lauren.

We are very excited to have such a wonderful new person in our house. As each day comes, we learn more and more about him as he discovers the world. The next month should be even more fun. Now we’re looking forward to Christmas!
